New Delhi: Though there is no official announcement, news are abuzz that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to declare the results of the UGC NET Examination 2016 held in the month of July and August in a day or two on its official website.
Some media reports are speculating that the UGC NET July 2016 results would be declared today i.e. Wednesday November 16, 2016.
Once declared, the CBSE UGC NET 2016 Exam result will be available online on cbsenet.nic.in.
The CBSE UGC NET July 2016 was conducted on July 10 and August 28 at various exam centres across the country.
Over 6 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. The exams are held twice in a year to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the posts of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor.
The candidates who appeared the CBSE UGC NET July/August 2016 exams can follow the steps given below to check their results:
- Log on to the official website cbsenet.nic.in
- Browse for the link marked with 'Important Link'
- Search for the 'Result' link and click
- Enter all the required details in prescribed format in the space provided
- Click to submit
- Results should appear on the screen
The candidates are advised to take a printout of their scorecard for future reference.
The CBSE had released the Answer Keys of the UGC NET 2016 Exams in the month of September and objections raised by the candidates were also recorded. The board would use these objections for preparing the final results.
As per reports, two separate merit lists will be prepared by the CBSE: Subject-wise and Category-wise, using the aggregate marks of all three papers. In Paper 1 and 2, all the candidates are required to score a minimum of 40 per cent. In Paper 3, applicants need to get a minimum of 50 per cent.
The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor.
The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them.
The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF.
The next round of CBSE UGC NET exam will be held in January 2017. The online form submission process for the January 2017 UGC NET exam concluding today i.e. November 16.
