Canada:
Canada got its first-ever hijab-wearing anchorwoman on Friday, Anadolu Agency reported.

"This is not just a big deal for me personally-As far as I know, no woman in hijab has ever anchored a major newscast in Canada", Panamanian-born Ginella Massa wrote on her Facebook page.

Working for CityNews, Massa filled in as an anchor for the Friday late newscast.

Massa also became the country's first headscarf-wearing TV news reporter in 2015. Ginella Massa has worked both behind-the-scenes and on-air for local and national Canadian news outlets since 2010, including CityNews, CTV, NEWSTALK 1010, and Rogers Television.
