Panaji: A magazine run by Goa Church has come out with an article which has likened the current National Democratic Alliance (NDA) dispensation in the country to Nazi Germany and has urged the people in the state to vote against communal forces.
"In 2012, everyone thought in terms of having a corruption free Goa; this thinking continues till 2014 but from then and increasingly everyday what we are witnessing in India, is nothing but a constitutional holocaust. Corruption is very bad, Communalism is worse, but Nazism is worse than both," the article, written by Dr. FE Noronha, a city lawyer, said, according to UNI.
"Anybody who read William Shirer's 'The rise and fall of the 'Third Reich' or Allan Bullocks' 'A study of tyranny' or Hitler's own 'Mein Kamph' will find an extraordinary identity between the growth and rampage. of Nazism in Germany in 1933 onwards and India in 2014," the article, appeared in "Renovacao", a pastoral bulletin of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, said.
The article also urged Goa voters to vote against communal forces in order to halt the march of "nationwide fascism", according to ANI.
The article comes as a new-found disliking of the church for the BJP.
However, reacting to the contents of the article, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said in a press conference yesterday he did not want to say anything but there were inherent contradictions in the article.
"If someone studies history of Germany, you will realise (the) contradiction," Mr Parrikar remarked.
