Mumbai: The Haj Committee of India Tuesday issued a detailed guidelines for pilgrims who are going to Hajj in August/September 2017 regarding Adahi (Qurbani) and also advised them not to fall prey to the fraudsters during the Hajj period.
“As per the Guidelines for haj 2017, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is the only authorized by the Government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to perform Qurbani (Adahi) for Haj pilgrims.
"The pilgrims should therefore not fall prey to the fraudsters in the name of Qurbani (Adahi)”, the Haj Committee of India said in an official statement released today.
“Qurbani (Adahi) Coupons of IDB will be arranged by Haj Committee of India for the Covers who opt for it (all pilgrims of a cover have to opt together”, Option once exercised shall not be revoked”, the Haj Committee of India said.
The Haj Committee of India further said that the Consul General of India (CGI) Jeddah vide mail dated July 16, 2017 has asked it about the final requirement of Qurbani (Adahi) coupons on or before July 24, 2017.
“Hence it should be noted that the pilgrims who have opted for Qurbani (Adahi) coupons but amount has not been deposited, these pilgrims will be marked as “Not opted” for Qurbani (Adahi) and they have to perform Qurbani (Adahi) on their own”, the committee said.
“The pilgrims who have deposited the amount towards Qurbani )Adahi) will be issued IDB Qurbani coupons in Saudi Arabia”, it said.
The Haj Committee of India further said the outbound Haj Charter operations are starting shortly. And, once the embarkation point starts change of option, if any, received from the pilgrims may not be entertained.
The Haj Committee of India has already declared the Haj 2017 flight Schedule of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and other neighboring states.
The Haj flights schedule of Haj pilgrims from Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar and other states will be announced soon.
Hajj is performed ever year in the memory of Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and his son Prophet Ismael. The annual ritual coincides with Eid al Adha - the Muslim festival celebrated on 10th of Dhul Hijjah every year.
