The decision to postponed the Class 10 exams for the academic year 2019-20 is taken because of the local body elections to be conducted in March.
As per the time table issued earlier, the SSC or Class 10 exams in Andhra Pradesh was scheduled to begin on March 23. The last paper as per the earlier time table was to be held on April 08, 2020.

New date and time table of the exams will be published on the AP education board website soon, the government sources said.
According to the reports, the state government has discussed its plan to reschedule the SSC examinations with the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Dr. Ramesh Kumar.
Kumar said that the issue of the SSC examinations was discussed with the senior officials of the government who told the commission that it will take appropriate measures to postpone the examinations.
According to reports, the Andhra Pradesh state government is rushing to conduct the the local body elections so that it can save the Rs. 4000 crore funds from getting lapsed at the end of the financial year because of which the government has decided to defer the SSC examinations by a few weeks.
