New Delhi: Sabeera Haris, a first-year BBA student at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and an international shooting player, has attained the top position (187/200 points) in the Senior Women’s category at the Perazzi Cup, an international shotgun shooting competition.
The international shotgun shooting competition took place in Lonato, Italy, from July 23 to 26, 2026.
Sabeera Haris's remarkable achievement was made possible through the coaching and mentorship of Rayyan Rizvi, a JMI alumnus and fellow international shooting player.

Sabeera currently holds the top rank in India within the Junior category and has represented the country in several World Championships, competing at the pinnacle of international shooting.
In September 2025, she achieved the title of Asian Junior Champion by securing the Individual Gold Medal at the Asian Shooting Championship held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
Additionally, she has earned Bronze Medals in Porpetto, Italy (2024), Peru (2024), and at the Senior World Championships in Cyprus (2025), as well as a Silver Medal in Germany (2022).
Previously, she participated in the Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, where she placed 9th with a score of 106/125, narrowly missing the final after a shoot-off, and in the World Championships in Suhl, Germany, where she again finished 9th with a score of 114/125, once more missing the final through a shoot-off.
Sabeera's journey as an athlete is characterized by discipline, consistency, resilience, and the capacity to excel under pressure, while also maintaining good academic performance at JMI. At present, she is gearing up for the World Cup in Porpetto, Italy, which is set to take place in September 2026. Her goal is to further enhance her skills, compete at the highest level, and proudly represent India.
