The General Administration Department, (GAD), of the State Government has issued directives to all the heads of the departments, collectors and chief executive officers in this regard, asking them to display such details compulsorily on their respective website up to April 30 this year, an official Press release said.

It has been stated in the directives that each government servant who has been appointed in any service or on any post for the first time, shall be compulsorily required to submit the details of his / her immovable property after a gap of specified period during his / her service.

Further, state government has decided that all the government departments shall compulsorily provide the updated details of immovable property of their subordinate government servants on their respective departmental website up to April 30 this year.

It has been further stated in the directives that it would be responsibility of the head of the department that the information regarding the immovable property of their subordinate employees is compulsorily updated on the website.

It may be recalled here that the GAD had issued directives earlier on January 5, 1994, stating that each government servant shall submit the details of his / her immovable property to the competent officers before January 31 of every year. It was stated in the directives that if any government servant fails to submit the return of the immovable property by the given date then disciplinary action shall be taken against him considering it as violation of conduct rules. However, it has been stated in the directives that class IV employees shall be exempted from furnishing such details, the release added.

Meanwhile, it may be mentioned here that the Madhya Pradesh state's Chief Information Commissioner P.P. Tiwari had on Monday ordered to bring the assets of civil servants under the RTI ambit.

Soon after, the state's Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared that all ministers and legislators will table details of their asset in the state legislative assembly session starting on February 22.
