Exclusive website of mediapersons launched

Monday, June 28, 2010 09:09:31 PM, UNI

New Delhi: Fulfilling a long pending demand of mediapersons, decision makers, entrepreneurs and common man, the first exclusive website of mediapersons was launched here today.

The website- www.ipclubofindia.com, prepared by Indraprastha Press Club of India (IPCI) was inaugurated by Lok Sabha member Jai Prakash Agarwal at Parliament House.

''Media is the fourth estate and plays a very significant role. In an era of information technology, mediapersons have to put in extra efforts to collect news undeterred by hostile atmosphere and violence,'' Agarwal said.

Agarwal expressed confidence that the IPCI, in association with other like-minded organisations would play a pivotal role in catalysing socio-economic progress of the country and empowering the entire media fraternity.

''The society should understand the problems of mediapersons as sometimes they have to perform duties amid risk to their lives,'' he added.

The IPCI has a committed team of professionals which is poised to make an ultimate user-friendly media website, containing all indispensable information on Indian print, electronic and cyber media.

Ms Anjali Bhatia, Secretary General, IPCI apprised about the features of 'Woman Journalist Corner' in the website.

''It would enable woman journalists to communicate with others and help access promotional activities for them,'' she said.

Besides, the website would cover current affairs, problems and prospects of mediapersons.
