Bhopal: The two-day seventh "Aalamee Musabiqa Qirat-e-Qur'an" (international competition of traditional styles of rendition of the Holy Qur'an with Tajweed) will be organized here on December 22 and 23 at the historic Iqbal Maidan open air auditorium in the walled city after Isha prayers.


Qaris from all over India and abroad would be taking part in the international "Musabiqa". Qaris from the United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, Republic of Panama along with from the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and host Madhya Pradesh etc. would exhibit their skills of rendering Qur'an in different styles in the competition.


The "Musabiqa" is being organized under the banner of Aalamee Anjuman-e-Zeenat-ul-Qur'an here with the support of local MLA Arif Aqueel.


According to Maulana Abdul Hafeez Khan, president of this Aalamee Anjuman, the well-known Qari Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Wastanvi, Raees-ul-Jamia, Akkal Kuan (Maharashtra), will be the chief guest of the programme while Maulana Peer Saeed Miyan Mujaddadi, Rector of Dar-ul-Uloom Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal would preside over the function.

 

The Heads of Tajweed Department at Deoband and Nadwat-ul-Ulama, Nadwa (Lucknow) namely Qari Mohammad Aftab Ahmad and Qari Mohammad Riaz Mazhari respectively along with noted Qaris from Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband, Hathora will grace the function.


Maulana Abdul Hafeez informed that Qaris emerging first, second and third in the "Musabiqa" will be presented cash awards of Rs. 25,000; Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively along with mementos. Qaris who are placed fourth and fifth in the "Musabiqa" would be given Rs. 5,000 each as consolation prizes.

 

Other cash awards would also be given.

 

All the participants of the "Musabiqa" would be given participation certificates, he added.
