Mysore to host International Conference on Tipu Sultan

Malegaon: Scholars from India and abroad will discuss and present papers on various facets of Tipu Sultan at an international conference to be held in Mysore from January 16 to 18.

According to The Hind, the International Conference on the great Indian hero of 1857 war against imperialism is being organised by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums as part of the 150th anniversary of the 1857 uprising.

R. Gopal, Director of the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, told presspersons here on Thursday that the international conference on “Life and achievements of Tipu Sultan” would cover various facets of Tipu Sultan whose contributions went beyond his military conquests and struggle against the British rule.
