Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Muslim Reservation Front (APMRF) today demanded a probe into the entire process of allotment of 1,123 acres of 'Wakf' land to Hinduja company and 803 acres to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in Visakhapatnam, allegedly in violation of the Protection of Wakf Act, 1995.

Threatening to launch agitation, Front State President Mohammed Iftekhar Ahmed, in a statement here, claimed that the Hinduja had reportedly sought allotment of another 1,000 acres of land for its power project at the rate of Rs seven to eight lakh an acre as against the market value of about Rs 80 lakh per acre.

If necessary, alienation of land belonging to Hazrath Ishaq Shah Madni Aulia in the port city should be made only through public auction as per the Act, he said.
