Naxals may have link with Let: Chhattisgarh CM
Raipur/Dhanbad: Maoists today attacked the house of a Congress leader in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district killing two of his relatives while they blew up rail tracks in Jharkand on the second day of their two-day bandh.
The Maoists unleashed violence during the bandh in protest against the killing of their senior leader Azad in Andhra Pradesh's Adilabad district on July 1 following up on their overnight attacks in Chattisgarh and Orissa in which one policeman was abducted in the eastern state.
The attack on the house of Avdesh Gautam in Dantewada also left two persons injured including his son.
Armed Naxalites struck at the Kuakonda police station in Dantewada district in the wee hours, drawing retaliation from the police personnel.
Police claimed that six Naxalites were killed in the gunbattle. However, their bodies were yet to be recovered.
