Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government today included 61 Ulia level recognised Madaris and 28 Sanskrit educational institutions in the grant list.
The decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati, officials said.
As per the decision, the total expenditure after taking 61 recognised madarsas on grant list would be Rs 11.18 crore per year.
There are a total 1,306 recognised Madaris of Ulia level in the state of which 360 are aided and the rest unaided.
The government would bear an expenditure of Rs 6.55 crore after taking Sanskrit schools and colleges on the grant list.
Twenty eight state-run and private Sanskrit schools and colleges were included in the grant list.
