Modi's pro-Muslim ad in Bihar: Website claims photos from UP
Patna: The BJP already in trouble because of the advertisements it released showing 'Muslim Prosperity in Gujarat', is again facing the heat. This time due to yet another advertisement.
In a clear snub to its coalition partner, an angry Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar cancelled a dinner for the top brass of the BJP in disapproval of an advertisement featuring him with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and another on Gujarat's aid during the floods two years ago.
There was bad blood between the two sides, which run a coalition government for the last nearly five years, after Kumar attacked those who released an advertisement featuring him with Modi, about whom he was always uncomfortable as a political ally.
The JD(U) leader, who has an eye on Muslim votes, has fashioned himself as a secular leader and in the past had avoided sharing any dias with Modi in Bihar.
Interestingly, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is already trouble because of the advertisements released in Bihar newspaper focusing the prosperity of Muslims in Gujarat.
The advertisements that appeared in the media just ahead of Modi's visit to Bihar not only received criticism from political parties, but it also placed him under an awkward situation when a website claimed that the photos used are from Uttar Pradesh. The website also claims that the figures about 'the Muslim Prosperity in Gujarat' in of 2001.
