UP govt. denied any FIR ordered against ministers

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Government today denied that a CJM court of Jaunpur had ordered filing of FIR against ministers in connection with publication of some objectionable content in a Hindi monthly magazine ' Ambedkar Today'.

According to official spokesperson here today the CJM court had not mentioned filing of cases against any minister but had ordered the local police to investigate the case.

UP government had already ordered a CB-CID probe into the incident on May 18 last after seizure of all the published copies of the magazine while a recommendation was made for cancellation of the title of the Magazine on May 22.

As per the report yesterday the CJM court in Jaunpur had ordered registration of a case against nine persons, including four ministers and Editor of the magazine, over publication of some objectionable content in it.

CJM Mohammad Ashraf Ansari ordered registration of case against editor Rajeev Ratan Maurya, Cabinet Ministers Swami Prasad Maurya, Babu Singh Kushwaha, Nassimuddin Siddiquee and Daddu Prasad, besides Pichara Varg president Parasnath Yadav, Sushma Rana, Ashok Nandan and Ashwini Kumar Shakya.

The magazine had allegedly published some unpleasant content against Hindu Deities in its May 2010 edition.
