Lucknow:
To felicitate Anis Ansari , I.A.S. (Retd.) on his appointment as
the first Vice-Chancellor of U.P. Urdu, Arabi, Farsi University,
Lucknow, All India Muslim Forum on March 13, 2010 organized a
Seminar at Press Club on The Significance of U.P. Urdu, Arabi,
Farsi University, Lucknow – Its Impact on the Citizens of U.P.,
especially the Muslims, and their Expectations.
The seminar was attended by host of
lawyers, teachers, social activists, Muslim Forum office bearers,
and many prominent people including Prof. Manzoor Ahmed,
ex-Vice-Chancellor of Agra University, Dr. M.S. Naqvi, Principal of
Shia P.G.College, Salahuddin Sheebu advocate and Seraj Ansari, a
renowned sportsperson.
Welcoming Anis Ansari, the Chairman of All India Muslim Forum, Dr. M.K. Sherwani stressed that the establishment of ‘U.P. Urdu, Arabi,
Farsi University , Lucknow ’ was a positive step for fulfilling the
long-pending demand of the Urdu-loving citizens of U.P., especially
Muslims.
Undoubtedly, Dr. Sherwani asserted ,
this upcoming institution reflects the sincerity of the B.S.P.
government towards the sensitivity of Muslim community, and further,
the appointment of a versatile person like Anis Ansari, as its first
Vice-Chancellor will definitely boost the expectations of the people
of U.P. who aspire to give a fresh lease of life to these three
allied languages which have been totally neglected after
independence. Ansari, besides having the vast administrative
experience, is also an internationally acknowledged Urdu poet.
Highlighting the basic features of this University and its
jurisdiction, Anis Ansari emphasized that it will be the first
academic centre in U.P. for synchronizing the pattern of Madarsa
education, and will prove an effective instrument to make Urdu,
Arabi and Farsi as job-oriented languages.
He assured the audience that during
his tenure he will leave no stone unturned in making the
expectations of the government and the people of U.P. especially
Muslims a reality.
He disclosed that though the
functioning of the University on the allotted land is likely to take
some time as it is still under construction, he will be persuading
the government to allocate some building for this purpose so as to
start it at the earliest.
Ansari’s speech was followed by a lively discussion during which the
participants sought to know the real nature of this University, and
how it will seek to preserve Urdu, Arabi and Farsi as languages.
