Tehran:
A serial killer who murdered 16 women was hanged Saturday in
south-western Iran, Fars news agency reported.
The man, identified as Farid B, killed the women from 2004 to
2008. He was hanged in a prison in the city of Ahvaz after his
death verdict was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking of quantities in
excess of five kilograms are among the crimes punishable by death
in Iran.
