Hyderabad: More than
750 children from eight countries will participate in an
international art competition here Saturday on the theme "1
World".
Children from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand,
US and Vietnam besides India will participate in India's first
international "Kolor Champ" competition, to be hosted by Global
Art India, a unit of SIP Academy India Pvt Ltd.
According to organizers, the theme for the competition is "1
world", which may be interpreted as unity among people and nations
wherein all work together towards peace and harmony.
"This would be a thought provoking theme for all our young
participants who are the future citizens," says Uma Swaminathan,
state head (Andhra Pradesh) of Global Art.
This is the seventh edition of the international Global Art
competition, the earlier ones having being held in Bangkok,
Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou and Singapore.
The organizers said the contest was aimed at testing the creative
skills of children between the age group of 5 to 15 years.
Global Art India is a collaboration of SIP Academy India with
Global Art, Malaysia. Its aim is to develop the artistic and
creative potential of children.
Founded in 1999, Global Art is currently being run in 20 countries
