Bhopal:
Prof. Shamim Jairajpuri, founder Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad
National Urdu University, (MANUU), is arriving here on October 16
morning.
Prof. Shamim is coming to deliver a lecture on “Contribution of
Indian Muslims in the field of Science after Independence” at M.
P. Urdu Academy's Mulla Ramuzi Bhawan on October 17 at 10 a.m.
The lecture is being held under the
auspices of well-known social organization of the city Muslim
Education and Career Promotion Society, (MECAPS).
Earlier, on October 16 he will give a talk at the College of
Teachers' Education in the premises of M.H.K. Technical Institute
on “Maulana Azad National Urdu University: Kal, Aaj aur Kal” at
11.30 a.m.
He will also visit the Regional
Center of MANUU situated at Ahmadabad Palace Road in the City.
Prof. Jairajpuri is an eminent
scientist and Honarary Professor of Zoology at Aligarh Muslim
University. He has done pioneering research work on plant and soil
nematodes for which the Zoological Society of India had awarded
him gold medal in 1997, 1998 & 2008. He has published over 20
books and Monographs, and some 375 research papers in journals of
international repute.
He has held the coveted position of
the Director of Zoological Survey of India from 1989-1991. The
Indian National Science Academy has awarded him the Har Swarup
Memorial Award and the highly prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru
Visiting Fellowship in 2004. The Al-Ameen Educational Society has
selected him for the prestigious All India Community Leadership
Award for 2009.
