Mumbai: Six women labourers were killed in a road accident on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Maharashtra's Dhule district, police said Wednesday.

"These women were travelling in a truck along with sacks of grain. The driver, while trying to overtake another truck, rammed into a tree," an official said.

The driver was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Those killed have been identified as Sojabai Bhil, 40, Vatsalabai Kodi, 38, Gokulbai Bhil, 50, Mulkanbai Bhil, 60, Madinabai Pinjari, 50, and Abidabai Pinjari, 40.
