Jammu: Describing Kashmiri Pandits as an integral part of Kashmiri ethos, state minister Ali
Mohammad Sagar today said the community's large-scale migration from
the state has created a vacuum in the society.
The state rural development minister was speaking at a function
here.
Referring to the concept of Kashmiriyat, Sagar said that despite
vested efforts to create a chasm between the two communities
(Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims), they still share a strong bond,
common ethos and culture.
"The time is not far when they (Kashmiri Pandits) would return and
again start living in the same old tradition of mutual brotherhood
and peaceful co-existence," he said.
Referring to the role of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah in ensuring
peace in the state, Sagar said that the idea of mutual co-existence
and peaceful living was advocated by the late leader several decades
ago.
