Ranchi: The Congress
Sunday demanded Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda should
himself bear the expenses of his week-long visit to Germany to
seek investments.
"Munda and his officials were on a week's visit to Germany. The
state government has spent millions of rupees on the visit. This
visit was made official so that the poor people of the state bear
the expenses. Congress demands Munda bear the entire expenses of
the visit," state party spokesman Shailesh Sinha, Jharkhand
Congress spokesperson told IANS.
"Munda was enjoying in Germany when thousands of people of the
state were displaced during the demolition drive. The state
government has no rehabilitation policy for people displaced
during the drive," he added.
More than 4,000 illegal structures have been demolished in the
past three weeks on the directives of the Jharkhand High Court.
Sinha said that in the past too, Munda toured many foreign
countries to woo investors but his trips turned out to be
fruitless. "His Germany visit will also meet the same fate," he
said.
Munda, his Principal Secretary D.K. Tiwary and state Industries
Secretary A.P. Singh had left for Germany April 3. They landed
Sunday in New Delhi on their return.
