Anupam Kher to face privilege motion in Maharashtra

Maharashtra's legislators, upset over alleged derogatory utterances on the Indian constitution made by Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, Saturday moved a breach of privilege notice against him in the assembly   »

Mumbai: At least two unidentified miscreants pelted stones and glass bottles at the Juhu home of Bollywood actor Anupam Kher here late Saturday.

Confirming the incident, Kher said that some unknown persons threw stones and bottles at his home.

"However, nobody is injured nor there is any serious damage. We are not lodging any police complaint now, maybe later," Kher told IANS late in the night.

The attack on Kher's residence happened barely hours after the Maharashtra legislative assembly decided to haul up the actor for breach of privilege for allegedly making certain derogatory references to the constitution.

He made his alleged utterances Thursday when he had gone to meet social activist Anna Hazare, who was on a hunger strike in New Delhi.

Kher has categorically denied the allegations on Twitter.
