New Delhi: The stage is all set for
the three-day International Conference entitled “Towards
Knowledge, Development and Peace: Outlining Road Map for Future”,
which would be heralding the start of a year-long Silver Jubilee
Celebrations of Institute of Objective Studies, (IOS), here from
April 15.
The inaugural session which is scheduled from 4 pm to 7 pm on
April 15 will be chaired by Justice A.M. Ahmadi, the former Chief
Justice of Supreme Court of India. The conference would be
inaugurated by Dr. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Law &
Justice. Prof. A. R. Momin, Head Department of Sociology &
Anthropology, University of Bombay will deliver Keynote address.
Prof. (Dr.) Vinaysheel Gautam, Founding Director IIM (K) and Prof.
& First Head of Management Studies IIT (Delhi) will be the guest
speaker while Mr. Saiyyid Hamid, Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, New
Delhi, will welcome the guests.
The Guests of Honour at the inaugural function would be Mrs. (Dr.)
D. Purandeswari, Union Minister of State for HRD; Mrs. Sheila
Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi; Dr. Adel Al Falah, Under
Secretary, Ministry of Auqaf & Islamic Affairs, Kuwait; Dr. Ahmad
Totonji, Vice President, International Institute of Islamic
Thought, USA; and Dr. Abdur Rahman Bin Aqeel, Secretary General,
International Islamic Charitable Organisation, (IICO), Kuwait.
Dr. Mohammad Manzoor Alam, chairman IOS, will speak a few words at
the function while Prof. Z. M. Khan, Secretary General IOS, will
give an introduction of IOS to the guests.

A film on the activities and programmes taken up by the IOS during
last 25- years would also be released on the occasion. An
exhibition to portray the journey of IOS and art, calligraphy,
paintings, books, and manuscripts (makhtutat) shall be organised.
An essay competition for college as well as Madaris level (up to
the age of 40 years) under the programme for youth will be
organised on the occasion.
While a Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to selected
persons (Muslims and non-Muslims) at Delhi and other places where
IOS Silver Jubilee celebrations programmes are being organised in
recognition of their extraordinary services in different spheres
of social, educational and welfare of the minorities and other
underprivileged sections of the Indian society.
