Delhi:
Social activist Anna Hazare has been released from his cell in
Tihar Jail but is in talks with senior jail officials demanding an
"unconditional release", an official of the prison said.
"Anna Hazare is demanding an unconditional release which means he
can go anywhere once he is out of the jail premises. But we can't
allow that keeping in mind the city's law and order situation," a
Tihar spokesperson told IANS.
"He and his supporters were released from their cell but they are
presently at the jail headquarters in talks with our senior
officers," added the official.
Hazare, 74 was detained Tuesday morning ahead of his planned
fast-unto-death for a stronger Lokpal bill. He was arrested a few
hours later when he refused to sign a bail bond and was sent to
Tihar Jail along with his key confidante Arvind Kejriwal and other
supporters.
