Two-wheeler used in Mumbai blast identified: Home secretary

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and senior Muslim leader Maulana Mahmood Madani today warned against harassment of innocent Muslims in various parts of the country on the pretext of the probe.

"The way Muslims are being harassed in various parts of the country on the pretext of investigation, would not serve the cause. Instead, it would destabilise the peace and security of the country - the main objective of the perpetrators", Maulana Madani, also the General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind, said while strongly condemning the Mumbai serial blasts and demanding from the government to bring the culprits to justice.

He termed the Mumbai terror attack as a dastardly act for creating fear among general public and for disturbing peaceful social fabrics of the country.

He called upon all sections of society to unitedly fight against this menace.

He also expressed hope that such handful of destructive elements can never win over peaceful forces of our society.

He also took strong exception to the media for naming certain organizations that sounds of belonging to a particular community just after blast without proper identification.

He questioned as to “why not the ambit of investigation extended to the forces who are always busy in openly destroying peace and security and communal harmony of the country under the garb of cow protection, construction of Ram Mandir and whose names suspected in recent terror blasts instead of blaming an outfit (Indian Mujahideen) which has not even obvious existence and whose wings have already been reportedly clipped by governmental agencies.”

He, however, asserted, "Whoever is the culprit, he must be brought to justice and dealt with iron hand."

Appealing to the media, he said that it should not act as an accuser, prosecutor and judge but convey to the masses the true picture of events.
