Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis, in exercise of the powers vested in him under Section 19(3) of the AMU Act, March 23 approved the appointment of Professor Mujahid Beg, Department of Medicine, J.N. Medical College as Proctor in addition to his own duties for a period of two years.

 

Professor Mujahid Beg may organize the proctorial system to effectively serve the cause of the University.
 

The Vice Chancellor has requested all to cooperate with the new Proctor and give him the best of support.

 

Earlier, all important activities in the university, including admissions and examinations, remained paralyzed Tuesday on account of the forced locking of the central offices by the students' union a day earlier.

 

The students' union was demanding proctor's removal from the post alleging him of being inefficient.
