dead, 50 injured as bus overturns in Bengal

Kolkata: As
many as 12 people were killed and 50 others injured when an
overloaded private bus overturned in West Bengal's Bankura
district Monday, police said.
According to District Superintendent of Police Pranav Kumar, the
condition of 14 of the injured admitted in Bankura Sammilani
Medical College was stated to be critical.
Those killed included the driver of the Kolkata-bound bus.
"The bus from Purulia was overloaded and it overturned near Chatna
when the driver lost control. Some of the passengers died on the
spot," Kumar said.
The injured have been admitted in Bankura Sammilani Medical
College.
