Six per cent additional DA for MP Govt. staff

Government employees in service and retired will get additional
six per cent dearness allowance/relief.
This was decided in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Monday.
According to an official release this increase, which will be made
in the salaries for the month of October 2011, will be payable in
November 2011. Presently, government servants were getting
dearness allowance/relief at the rate of 45 per cent. They will
now start getting 51 per cent DA after sanction of additional DA
of six per cent.
The cabinet has sanctioned additional dearness allowance at the
rate of 10 per cent of basic pay of October 2011 for teacher
cadres of Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies and
Panchayat Secretaries. Thus, they will now get 142 per cent
dearness allowance by including earlier increase of 35 per cent
and dearness allowance.
Sanction of additional dearness allowance will entail an annual
burden of Rs. 905.76 crore for the State Government. Due to
increase in dearness allowance, the State Government will have to
bear an additional burden of Rs. 377.40 crore during the current
fiscal (2011).
The cabinet has decided to pay salary of month of October with
increased DA to the government servants on October 24-25 in view
Diwali festival, which falls in the last week of October.
