Monday October 03, 2011 10:12:20 PM, Pervez Bari, ummid.com

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Government employees in service and retired will get additional six per cent dearness allowance/relief.

This was decided in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Monday.

According to an official release this increase, which will be made in the salaries for the month of October 2011, will be payable in November 2011. Presently, government servants were getting dearness allowance/relief at the rate of 45 per cent. They will now start getting 51 per cent DA after sanction of additional DA of six per cent.

The cabinet has sanctioned additional dearness allowance at the rate of 10 per cent of basic pay of October 2011 for teacher cadres of Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies and Panchayat Secretaries. Thus, they will now get 142 per cent dearness allowance by including earlier increase of 35 per cent and dearness allowance.

Sanction of additional dearness allowance will entail an annual burden of Rs. 905.76 crore for the State Government. Due to increase in dearness allowance, the State Government will have to bear an additional burden of Rs. 377.40 crore during the current fiscal (2011).

The cabinet has decided to pay salary of month of October with increased DA to the government servants on October 24-25 in view Diwali festival, which falls in the last week of October.
