Srinagar:
Pandemonium broke out in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly Wednesday
as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress legislators protested
the tabling of a clemency resolution for 2001 parliament attack
convict Afzal Guru.
They resorted to slogan-shouting, saying "anti-national resolution
'ko wapas karo, wapas karo' (Take back the anti-national
resolution)". They even smashed tables and mikes.
Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone adjourned the assembly twice, first
for half an hour and then for one hour.
