Friday June 01, 2012 03:54:08 PM, IANS

Islamabad: A Saudi official was allegedly thrashed by security personnel at the Benazir International Airport here following an altercation, Geo News reported.

Saeed Al-Shehri was Thursday beaten after a heated argument. The scuffle took place when the officials stopped him for security check.

The incident forced Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer to visit the Islamabad airport.

While Pakistani sources say the man was not an official of the Saudi embassy and was here for a military course, Saudi Airline sources said he was a member of the Saudi Arabian embassy.
