Hyderabad:
The temple constructed adjacent to the historic Charminar
of Hyderabad and is illegal and unauthorized construction, an
application file under Right to Information (RTI) Act has
revealed.
"As per the AMASR Act 1958, Rules
1959, AMSAR Act 2010 (Amendment and Validation) the construction
of temple adjacent to the south eastern minar of the Charminar has
considred by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as an
unauthorized construction", the ASI said in its letter dated
03.12.2012 in response to an RTI application filed by SQ Masood,
an RTI Activist.
Along with this reply, a copy of
which has been provided to ummid.com by SQ Masood, Archaeological
Survey of India on his request also provided him the departmental
photographs of the site in which the temple does not exist in
1959.
Some Hindus had been quoted in the
media that the temple was legal and it existed before the
construction of Charminar.
The issue was recently in the media
limelight and had created communal tension and political
re-alignment in Andhra Pradesh.
There was a communal tension in the
city after some people from the Hindu community decided to expand
the existing illegal construction of the temple.
The dispute later forced the All
India Majlise Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to withdraw the support
to the Congress led government in the state.
Difference between the two former
alliance partners deepened further after AIMIM legislator
Akbaruddin Owaisi was booked and consequently jailed in a hate
speech case.
