Monday February 24, 2014 1:11 AM, Staff Reporter

Awami Vikas Party (AVP) president Shamsher Khan Pathan Sunday came down heavily on the Muslim celrics who are extending supports to the ruling Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) terming them 'Envelope Maulanas' who are misguiding Muslims for their personal interests.

"The 'Envelope Maulanas' are again out to mislead Muslims for their personal interests. We saw two of them in the advertisements of the NCP on Saturday, and five promoting a Congress MP Sunday", he said while talking to on phone.

Pathan was responding to huge advertisements that appeared in local Urdu newspapers Saturday and Sunday. While the advertisements on Saturday, had the names of Maulana Wali Rehmani and Maulana Ghulam Vastanvi as speakers at a function organised by the NCP's minority cell, the one on Sunday saw five Maulanas praising Congress MP Gurudas Kamat.

"They will (actually) guide the workers how to muster maximum votes for NCP", he said.

"These Envelope Maulanas are aware of the NCP government? How innocent people were falsely implicated in bomb blast cases? How Muslims were stopped from offering namaz in Sholapur masjid.

"How their minister said "Patthar ka jawab goliyon diya jaywnga"? How Muslims are deprived of reservation?

"All these things are a known fact.. But the envelope maulanas are concerned with "Envelope and post".. No matter if the community goes to hell", he said.

Appealing the people to boycott these so called "Rahebar-e-Qaum", he said, "If these Maulanas join political parties than I have no objection. But doing dalali is not acceptable."
