Prague: Palestinian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Jamal Al Jamal, who was injured in an explosion at his house in Prague-Suchdol Wednesday, has died in hospital, police said.
Bomb-disposal experts are searching a neighbouring house that is also owned by the Palestinian embassy, said police spokesperson Andrea Zoulova.
"It is early to speak about the causes or details of the detonation," said Zoulova. "We have several versions, but none of them can as yet been ruled out."
The 56-year-old ambassador officially assumed the post October 11, 2013, when he presented his credentials to Czech President Milos Zeman.
Nabil El Fahel from the embassy's press department said the ambassador's family was also in the house at the time of the explosion.
