Official Answer Key of MAHA TET 2015 Paper II released

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Rajya Pariksha Parishad - the examination authority responsible for holding different exams in the state including Marashtra Teacher Eligibilty Test, has released the official Final Answer Key of the MAHA TET 2015 Paper II which was held on January 16, 2016.

The MAHATET 2015 Paper II Answer Key released officially is available for download on the board's website.

The release of Answer Key for MAHA TET 2015 Paper I stands withheld as the exam was cancelled following paper leak. The Marashtra Teacher Eligibilty Test (Maha TET 2015) re-exam of Paper I will be held on May 18, 2016, it is officially announced by the Pune's Education department Thursday.

"It is now officially decided that the Maha TET 2015 Paper I, which was cancelled following the reports of question paper leak, will be held on May 18, 2016", the Maharashtra Education Department said.

The Mahat TET Paper I re-exam will be held on May 18, 2016 from morning 10:30 to 01:00 in the afternoon.

Admit Cards or Hall Ticket issued earlier should be used by the candidates to appear for the re-exam. No fresh Hall Ticket ot Admit Card will be issued, it is announced.

ummid.com has earlier reported that the re-exam scheduled to be held in April is likely to be delayed.

Though no reason has been cited by the department, it is learnt that the decision to re-schedule the exam has been taken because of the ongoing exams in schools and colleges, and also because of the severe drought situation in the state.

The Marashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (Maha TET 2015) was held January 16, 2016. But, it was found leaked hours before the exam.

According to an official from the Maharashtra State Board of Examination, after the exam started on its scheduled 10.30 am time Saturday, it received information of the questions being circulated on social media through the messaging application Whatsapp since 8 am.

“We were informed at around 10.45 am about the alleged paper leak in Beed. Following this we initiated an inquiry and found that the question paper had indeed gone viral. The board immediately called a meeting to decide on whether a re-examination of the particular paper should be held,” said R.V. Ghodne, chairman of the board.

Soon it was learnt that question paper was also leaked in Pune, Dhule and some other towns in North Maharashtra.

Mahavir Mane, Director of Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), which conduct the examination, said, “The leak was observed in Beed, Dhule and Pune but in other parts of the state the test was conducted smoothly.”

In total 1,74,163, candidates appeared for Paper I on Saturday, he said.

Following the incident Education Minister Vinod Tawade ordered a probe, and consequently the probe report was submitted to the government. The government however is yet to take a decision whether to go-ahead with results or conduct a re-exam.

The Maharashtra TET is held in Marathi, English and Urdu three languages since 2014. It comprises of two papers. Paper I is for candidates aspiring for posts of primary teachers, whereas Paper II is for those wanting to be secondary school teachers.

As per the Right to Education Act, 2009, all states have to mandatorily conduct TET for recruitment of teachers to all types of schools. Only candidates who have qualified the TET will be eligible for teaching jobs henceforth.
