Koraput: Swati Sakambari Mishra, Ph.D. Scholar of Dept. of Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources (DBCNR), Central University of Orissa, was conferred as “Young Scientist Award” at the 6th Odisha Environment Congress (OEC) held in the last week.
The Congress was held at Bhubaneswar during 22nd -24th December 2015.
Swati was awarded for presentation of her research work- “Growth and anti-oxidant response under chromium stress: screening of Indian Wild rice for phytoremediation” under the guidance of Dr. Debabrata Panda, Asst Professor of the Dept. in OEC- 2015.
Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, CUO congratulated her for this achievement and described it as an achievement on the eve of New Year. Dr. S. K. Palita, Dean, School of Biodiversity, CUO also congratulated the researcher for her success.
"Research scholars of CUO must work towards research of internationals standard and for welfare of the society", he said.
He assured research community to provide all financial and infrastructural support to boost research activity in this region.
The Odisha Environment Congress was held with the focal theme – ‘Environment: Health & Nutrition’. Scientists, Academicians, Environmentalists, Environment Administrators and young researchers from Odisha and different parts of India participated in this Congress.
