UPSC Civil Services: All you need to know about 2016 Main Exam Results, Personal Interviews

Thousands of Civil Services aspirants who cracked the UPSC Civil Services Prelims and later appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Main exams held between December 3 to December 9, 2016 are anxiously waiting for their results.

Once the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2016 results will be out, the candidates passing the coveted exams will be called for Personal Interviews. The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) issues Personal Interview schedule, and also interview e-Summon letters to candidates, after announcing the results of the UPSC Civil Services Main Exams.

The UPSC based on the performance of candidates in Personal Interviews/Personality Tests prepares final merit list and recommends candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and others top Civil Services posts in India.

If we go by the records, the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) had declared the results of the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2015 on February 19, 2016. The 2015 exam was held from December 18 to December 23, 2015.

On this basis, some media reports are speculating that the UPSC Civil Services Main 2016 Exam results would be declared any time - most probably on or before February 20. The UPSC in itself has not announced officially any date or schedule of the result declaration.

The UPSC conducts various exams and declares their results, including that of UPSC Civil Services Prelim, Main and Final results, and related notifications on its official website All results are declared without prior announcement.

It leaves the candidates with only option but to keep track of the UPSC website ( to check if the results are declared.

Hence for the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2016 results also candidates should keep track of the UPSC website. If gets information or update regarding the result declaration of the UPSC Main Exam 2016 it will be first to update the candidates.

Meanwhile, according to some media reports, the UPSC is expected to release the notification of the UPSC Civil Services 2017 Prelim exam on Februray 22, 2017. It was earlier learnt that the UPSC Civil Services Prelim exam 2017 exam will be conducted on June 18 whereas the last date for submitting applications is March 17.

The Civil Services Preliminary examination is normally held in the month of August, but now after a gap of three years, the commission will be conducting the examination in the month of June. A graduate in any stream and from a reputed university is eligible to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary examination.
