Mumbai: A video showing a man, who was later identified as leader of the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), and a woman in compromising position in a running bus in Chandrapur area of Gadchiroli district, went viral this morning sending shockwaves in Maharashtra political circle.
Hours after the video appeared in the social media groups, the woman approached police station, lodged complaint against BJP leader Ravindra Bawanthade.
The CCTV video of inside the bus shows the BJP leader kissing the woman and also forcing himself upon her. Other passengers can also be seen sitting in the bus which commenced from Nagpur to Chandrapur area of Gadchiroli.
The incident happened on the back seat of the bus which was filled with other passengers.
In her complaint, she said Ravindra Bawanthade raped her, promising that he will marry her and also get a job.
Ravindra Bawanthade is absconding.
