New Delhi: The online registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 to be organised by Indian Instititue of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in the month of February has begun. Interested candidates can apply on or before September 05, 2017.
Along with making active the link to apply online for GATE 2018, IIT Guwahati has also released a guide titled as "Sample format of step by step procedure to fill up GATE 2018 application". Candidates who wish to download this guide can do so from the homepage.
The GATE 2018 will be held on February 3, February 4 and February 10, February 11, 2018. The exams will be held in two sessions: Forenoon: 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Afternoon: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM.
How to apply for GATE 2018:
- Click here to go to the official website of GOAPS "gate.iitg.ac.in".
- Registered as New User using a valid email ID and mobile number
- Log on using the enrollment ID and password
- Fill in all the required details in the prescribed format
- Upload photograph, signature in the specified format
- complete the payment process
The GATE 2018 fees as decided by the examination authority is Rs.1500/- for all candidates. The Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST and PwD categories are needed to pay Rs. 750/- fees.
Candidates sitting in GATE 2018 exam at exam centres Addis Ababa, Colombo, Dhaka and Kathmandu: are required to pay US$ 50 and those appearing for exam in Dubai and Singapore are liable to pay US$ 100 fees.
Conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and the IIT, GATE scores are used for admission to MTech/PhD programmes in IITs, IISc and various other institutes. GATE is conducted in 23 disciplines of engineering and science subjects and identifies the candidate’s understanding of a subject and aptitude and eligibility for higher studies.
GATE scores are also used as a criterion for recruitment in government organisations such as cabinet secretariat, and national and state public sector undertakings in India.
