21-yr-old female paramedic killed in latest Israeli shelling in Gaza

Gaza: A volunteering paramedic was killed, and more than 100 protesters were injured as Israeli forces continued attacking the ongoing Great March of Return protests at the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.

Razan Ashraf Najjar, 21, a volunteering paramedic, was shot in the chest and killed by Israeli snipers while she was providing first aid to the wounded at the border fence east of Khan Younes, in southern Gaza Strip.

Minister of Health Jawad Awwad condemned the fatal shooting Najjar, describing her killing as a war crime and a blatant violation of international treaties and agreements which protect paramedics and medical staff at times of conflict.

More than 100 protesters were also injured by Israeli fire, including 40 by live gunfire.

Over 120 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the Great March of Return protests at Gaza-Israel border on March 30. Thousands of others have also been injured.
