New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended till October 30, 2018 on its website cbse.nic.in the online registration of Class IX (Class 9) and Class XII (Class 11) regular students. Students should note that the last date of registration was earlier fixed as October 22, 2018.
"The last date without late fee for submission of registration for Class IX and Class XI for session 2018-19 is October 22, 2018. (However) Due to the holidays on account of Dussehra and Titli cyclone which has affected some states of the country, it has been decided to extend the last date without late fee upto 30.10.2018", the CBSE latest notification said.
"All affiliated schools are required to register themselves before proceeding for online registration of their students. Schools must use the ‘Affiliation Number’ as user ID already available with them", the CBSE had said in the Notification released on its website earlier.
"Newly affiliated schools should contact the concerned Regional Office of the CBSE for obtaining password after which schools are advised to change the password for future use and keep it confidential to avoid misuse. Keeping password safely shall be the responsibility of the school", the CBSE said.
"Schools should enter number of sections and number of students which should be in consonance with the information provided on OASIS. This information should be filled very carefully in OASIS as schools will not be allowed to change the declared section/strength afterwards", the CBSE said.
"As per Rule 6.1(a)(iii) of the Examination Bye-Laws, school shall ensure that the student, while seeking admission in a class, satisfies the requirement of age limit (minimum and maximum) as determined by the State/ U.T. Government and applicable to the place where the School is located", it added.
Aadhaar Not Compulsory
The CBSE said students can provide their Aadhaar Number but it is not compulsory.
"Aadhaar number field has been provided. The use of Aadhaar for the students will result in accuracy of the students’ details. The students not in possession of Aadhaar number may enter the Passport number, Ration card number, Bank account number or any other Govt. valid identity", the CBSE said.
"In respect of Foreign nationals, Passport Number can be provided. If passport number is not available, Social Security Number/ID Number issued by that Foreign Country may be mentioned", it added.
Subjects and Schemes
"For classes IX/XI, schools are advised to offer only those subjects which have been permitted to them by the Board. In case, school sponsors students in subject(s) other than those permitted by the Board, it may lead to action against the school, in addition to cancellation of candidature of such students", the CBSE said.
"In accordance with the Scheme of Studies, Board has prescribed examples of Valid/ Invalid combination of subjects. Schools should check the combination of subjects before filling in the subjects. Class IX/XI examinations must be conducted internally by the schools", it added.
"All Independent Schools situated in India must deposit Sports Fee of Rs.10,000/- alongwith registration fee. This fee is collected by the Online system by default. No separate sports fee is required to be sent by the schools situated in India to concerned Regional Office", it said.
All the students need to pay Rs 150 as application fee; however, the students with disabilities will get exemptions.
Further, candidates can submit application form with a late fee of Rs 1150, Rs 2150, and Rs 5150 for registration from October 31 to November 12, November 13 to November 20 and November 21 to November 28, respectively.
