The Government of India is planning to eliminate poverty by 2015. However the Educational Conference in Malegaon goes a step further. It urged the Muslims to extensively plan higher education so that to have a doctor in every Muslim household by 2015. “Let us work on a ten-year plan so that every Muslim household have at least a doctor by 2015”, asserted Mubarak Kapdi. Mubarak Kapdi, a renowned educationalist and campaigner was speaking at a two-day Educational Conference that began in Malegaon on December 27. The conference has been jointly organized by Jamia Mohammadia Education Society and the local Urdu daily Shmnaama

“No community experiments for sixty long years. But unfortunately we are doing it”, said Mubarak Kapdi. “The time has come to bring the experiments an immediate end and work for the mass education.”

Mubarak Kapdi who is known for his educational lectures all over the country elaborated the issues now facing the Muslim community in India and in a unique style that is very special to him suggested immediate solutions. “Stop complaining about the injustice. The atrocities and injustice are committed on every minority at every place in the world”, he said and added, “Our main enemies are the sectarian differences that are rampant nowadays in our society.”

Stating that our enemies are well aware of this fact hence they successfully misuse them against us he asked the gathering to work for the revival of the Muslim community despite their differences. “I don’t call for the community to shun their differences. Differences would be there and they would be there till the last day of this world. I urge them to learn to work for their own good despite the differences.”

During the course of more than three-hour long lecture Mubarak Kapdi suggested various educational, social, economical and moral plans for immediate action. Stating that people exult over the talent of the Muslims, he said, “No one doubts our talent. The point here is how to use this talent for getting the desired positive results.”

District Superintendent of Police Dr. Nikhlikumar Gupta also addressed the first day of the conference that was presided over by Arshad Mukhtar, Secretary of Jamia Mohammadia Education Society. Dr. Gupta and Arshad Muhtar jointly released the Urdu and Marathi books written by Mubarak Kapdi for the audience.
