New Delhi: An alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia has achieved a significant honour for himself, his alma mater and the country. A paper co-written by Danish Nadeem, who graduated in computer science from the Jamia in 2002.
Later he obtained Master of
Science (Research) degree in Cognitive Sciences from University of Osnabrueck, Germany.
He is now doing his PhD at the Center for Learning Sciences and Technologies CELSTEC - Open University of Netherlands, won the IEEE Best Student paper award at EDUCON 2010 in Madrid. The titleof the paper is “Web 2.0 contents for connecting learners in online Learning Network”.
Danish Nadeem and Rob Koper authored it under the guidance of Prof. Slavi Stoyanov. The paper was presented by Danish Nadeem last month at the prestigious IEEE EDUCON 2010 and TAEE 2010 conferences held at UNED and UPM in Madrid, Spain which were attended by nearly 300 engineers, scientists and educators from the five continents. The attendees look for new methods and experiences inside teaching and learning of electronic engineering. The paper is about how learning networks are favorable models for supporting self-directed learning for lifelong learners.
Another Jamia Millia Islamia’s Engineering graduate has brought laurels to his alma mater and the country. Hamid Khan of Delhi graduated from the Jamia in 2007. He is now pursuing PhD at IFP
(Paris), on innovative Power Electronic control strategies for Hybrid Electric Vehicles. He did his masters in Power electronics and electromagnetic compatibility from Polytech’ Clermont-Ferrand, Université Blaise Pascal, France last year, (2009).
His paper “Random Space Vector Modulation for Electric Motor drive: A Digital Approach” has been accepted by the EPEPEMC 2010 International Steering Committee for DIALOG (poster) presentation at the 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE-PEMC 2010) which will be held during 6-8 September 2010 at Ohrid in Macedonia.
