Israeli airstrike kills two in Gaza

Thursday November 18, 2010 12:34:57 PM, IANS

Gaza: Two Palestinians were killed and three injured in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, an official said Thursday.

An Israeli war jet targeted a car in central Gaza City Wednesday evening, witnesses said.

A spokesman for medical services in the health ministry told Xinhua that Islam Yassin and Mohamed Yassin, who were in the car, were killed.

Three other bystanders were injured in the attack, he said.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on the incident.

Security sources in Gaza said that the two killed were members of the pro-Al Qaeda radical Islamic group The Army of Islam.

Two weeks ago, a member of the group was killed when a car was hit by an Israeli missile in western Gaza City.
