Delhi: Parliament will discuss three versions of
the Lokpal bill Friday, Law Minister Salman Khurshid said here
Thursday.
"We will discuss the three versions of the bill tomorrow (Friday)
in the parliament and we are hopeful that all the sticking issues
will be sorted out," Khurshid told IANS at the Iftar party hosted
by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.
Apart from the Jan Lokpal Bill advocated by Team Anna, the
government will also take up for discussion civil activist Aruna
Roy's version of the Lokpal bill. The third version is the one
presented by Andhra Pradesh Independent MLA Jayprakash Narayan.
The government's version of the Lokpal bill is being examined by a
parliamentary standing committee.
"The government was always positive and never believed that there
were any stumbling blocks," Khurshid said.
