UAE to release 676 prisoners to mark Ramadan

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will release 676 prisoners, including foreign nationals, to mark the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release.

Pardoned UAE citizens will be provided suitable jobs in the country while foreign nationals will be deported.

Officials said the president wants to give the inmates an opportunity to start a new life.
