New Delhi: The
Supreme Court Thursday stayed a Mumbai court's order granting bail
to Pune stud farm owner, Hasan Ali Khan, alleged to be the
country's biggest tax-evader, and granted his immediate custody to
the Enforcement Directorate for four days.
An apex court bench of Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy and Justice S.S.
Nijjar
said it was doing so in the face of extraordinary situations and
the complexity of the situations involved in the money laundering
cases against Khan the ED is probing.
The court also expressed its bewilderment over the detailed order
of Mumbai's principal sessions judge M.L. Tahilyani refusing the
ED custodial interrogation of Khan and granting him bail.
