Most illegal explosives seized in Maharashtra

New Delhi: A total of
12,667 kg of illegal explosives were recovered from Maharashtra
till July this year and 2,796 illegal firearms seized from Jammu
and Kashmir in 2010, the Lok Sabha was informed Tuesday.
Minister of State of Home Affairs M. Ramachandran said that
Maharashtra was followed in seizures of explosives by Rajasthan
(11,728 kg) and Andhra Pradesh (7,269 kg).
Nothing was recovered from Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Punjab,
Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Arunachal Pradesh, he said.
The least amount of explosives were recovered from Manipur (32 kg)
and West Bengal (35.5 kg).
Regarding illegal firearms, Jammu and Kashmir was followed by
Madhya Pradesh (1,066) Rajsthan (660) and Delhi (417).
A single illegal arm was recovered from Puducherry, two from Tamil
Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar islands and three from Himachal
Pradesh.
