Hyderabad:
CARE Hospitals Friday launched an integrated outpatient centre,
the biggest of its kind in the country.
Set up at a cost of Rs.30 crore in the upmarket Banjara Hills
here, the centre provides a wide array of outpatient services in a
single dedicated location.
B. Somaja Raju, cardiologist and chairman of CARE Hospitals -- the
fifth-largest chain of multi-speciality hospitals in India -- told
reporters that the centre would provide patients with professional
and speciality medical help.
The centre will be be formally inaugurated by former president
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Feb 4.
It is the 13th hospital of the Hyderabad-based group since its
inception in 1997.
The six-storeyed facility has 100 consultation rooms,
state-of-the-art operation theatres for day care surgeries,
dialysis unit, wellness centre, diagnostics, pharmacy and optical.
"We came out with the idea of having such a facility away from
hospitals to decongest them. This will also protect the
outpatients and other visitors like children from possible
infection," he said.
N. Krishna Reddy, CEO, CARE Hospitals, said the centre was set up
as part of the expansion plans following the recent investment of
$110 million in the company by Advent International, a leading
global private equity firm. "This investment is for both expansion
and for the exit of earlier investors," he said.
The group plans to set up another full-fledged hospital at
Gachibowli, an IT hub in Hyderabad. Two more hospitals will come
up at Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar.
CARE Hospitals, which currently has 13 hospitals in five states,
plans to double its bed strength to 3,200 in two-and-half years.
