Mumbai: Open talk show organised by a local Marathi news channel in Thane's Mumbra Saturday took an ugly shape when Maharashtra Cabinet Minister of Medical Education and Horticulture Jitendra Awhad and other Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) activists clashed with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party workers.

A couple of activists from both the sides including Ashraf Malani of AIMIM and Fayyaz Shaikh alias Sameer Khan of NCP, have been reported injured in the incident.
Naupada police has registered a case of rioting against workers belonging to both the parties including state minister Jitendra Awhad.
According to media reports appearing in local newspapers, Sam TV, a local Marathi news channel, has organised a talk show to discuss issues pertaining to the assembly constituency represented by Awhad.
Along with NCP and AIMIM, party workers from Shiv Sena, MNS and Congress were also present in the talk show.
The Talk Show took an ugly shape when, according to Jitendra Awhad, Ashraf Malani and his son hurled abuses againt him.
"If someone abuses a minister in front of the public, party workers will get angry. It is natural. Ashraf Malani and his son hurled abuses against me not once but 2-3 times", Awhad is quoted as sayind by an Urdu daily Inquilab.
Ashraf, however, rejects allegations and said he was attacked after he started exposing Awhad and his misconduct during the talk show.
"Awhad does not want to see any other leadership in the area. He is scared of the popularity AIMIM has shown in recent days", he said.
He said leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi of AIMIM and Abu Asim Azmi of Samajwadi Party (SP) were banned from entering Mumbra at the behest of Awhad.
"Muslims are even harassed if they meet Shiv Sena leaders", he alleged.
The ruling Congress-NCP alliance is in panic ever since Asaduddin Owaisi of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced to field party candidates in upcoming state assembly elections.
The AIMIM had organised a huge rally at Mumbai's Nagpada Junction on Friday where a large number of people from Mumbai and the suburbs were seen shouting slogans praising Owaisi brothers.
